June 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Happy Thursday to all of you,

Here is a salad you can prepare without even dirtying the kitchen. What does this salad offer you? Let’s see.

Apples: they are high in soluble fiber which helps lower cholesterol and insoluble fiber, needed for regular bowel movements. Remember the saying: One apple a day keeps the doctor away. They are good for the heart and the liver.

Bananas: the potassium found in bananas helps with the sodium and potassium balance, vital for the heart and muscles proper functioning. It is also needed to regulate the water inside and outside our cells.

Pears: The help regulate bowel movements because of their fiber. They are diuretic which helps maintain a healthy blood pressure.

Kiwis: high in fiber which helps with regular bowel movements. They are high in vitamin C.

Oranges: they are high in vitamin C. Vitamin C helps with iron absorption when both are consumed in the same meal.

Grapes: they are rich in vitamins B and C. They are high in antioxidants which are needed to fight free radicals, a main cause of chronic diseases and aging.
